How to Get a Driving Licence - Category A1
If you've attended a driving school you can drive motorcycles with 125ccm engines and 11 kW of power with an A1 license. You can also drive three-drive motor vehicles such as trikes.
You can get an A1 license at the age of 16 years old. You'll need to pass the theory test as well as the practical test.
What is my driving skill?
With the category A1 license, you are able to ride on three-wheeled or two-wheeled mopeds. They are vehicles with an engine size of up to 125cc and an output of up to 11kW. A1 drivers can drive vehicles that weigh up to 8,250kg in mass. You can also drive a vehicle and trailer combination that weighs up to 750kg. A full category B driving licence was required prior to the 19th of January 2013 in order to be eligible to drive mopeds and tricycles. Drivers who obtained an entire Category B licence before 19 January 2013 retain their Category AM rights to tricycles and mopeds so long as they did not receive a full Category C licence since that date.
